The San Jose Sharks are in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but they will not know their destination until Monday with the conclusion of the Dallas-Vancouver series.
There still remains a chance for Team Teal to open the Western Conference Semifinals on home ice. If Calgary takes the next two from Detroit and Dallas defeats Vancouver in Game 7 Sunday night, the Sharks will sit tight and the Stars will come to HP Pavilion to renew playoff pleasantries.
If Detroit finishes off the Flames, the Sharks start on the road against Anaheim if the Dallas topples Vancouver, or in Detroit if Vancouver if victorious.
Should Vancouver win their series with Dallas and Detroit falls to Calgary, the Sharks head north to faceoff with the Canucks.
There is still a lot to be determined in the next 48 hours, but one definite is the Sharks are one of the NHL’s final eight teams standing for the third consecutive season. Their goals are bigger though and they will continue on their path to the Stanley Cup later this week. The Sharks travelled home from Nashville on Saturday and took a well-deserved day off on Sunday.
