Sharks forward Jeremy Roenick finished ninth in the 19th annual American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe this weekend. Roenick was in 1st place after Friday's first round and finished the celebrity tournament with a +57 in the modified Stableford scoring system.
Also playing were Phoenix Head Coach Wayne Gretzky, former basketball great Michael Jordan, real estate mogul Donald Trump and ex-49ers star Jerry Rice. Roenick was one of 80 pro athletes and entertainers hitting the links at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course to compete for a share of the $600,000 purse.
Major League Baseball Great Rick Rhoden won the tournament with a +68.

Earlier this week, the 38-year-old veteran played golf along with amateurs in the Lake Tahoe Celebrity Am, Harrah’s Celebrity Am and the American Century Celebrity Am to help raise money for Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG Foundation.
Besides Roenick and Gretzky, other hockey legends and current players participating included Mario Lemieux, Mike Eruzione and Joe Sakic.
All proceeds from the Championship will benefit the LIVESTRONG Foundation which provides information and tools for people living with cancer while raising money for cancer research.
