Sharks Prospect Philip Varone has scored six goals and recorded seven assists during his current seven-game point streak with the Erie Otters. The five-foot-ten center is tied for fourth in the OHL with four game-winning goals and was recently named First Star for scoring both goals in a 2-1 win on Dec. 3 vs. Kitchener. Varone was also named First Star vs. Kitchener on Nov. 27 after recording a hat-trick that included the game winning goal.
Selected by the Sharks in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Boston University’s Charlie Coyle is currently tied for sixth place in Hockey East in conference points and is first amongst Freshman. The six-foot-two center has scored a goal and recorded four assists for a total of five points in his last three games. On December 8, Coyle was named First Star vs. Northeastern after posting a goal and two assists.
