Selected by the Sharks in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Boston University’s Charlie Coyle was recently chosen to represent the US at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship. Born in East Weymouth, Massachusetts, the six-foot-two Freshman is fourth on the team in points (14), tied for third in goals (5) and fourth in assists (9). The Sharks prospect has scored one goal and recorded four assists for a total of five points in his last four games.


Goalie Thomas Heemskerk of the Moose Jaw Warriors is currently tied for fourth place in the Western Hockey League in wins. The Sharks prospect was named Second Star on Dec. 17 vs. Brandon after stopping 44 of 47 shots. The 20-year-old native of Chilliwack, Canada made 25 saves and recorded the shutout while being named First Star on Dec. 4 vs. Everett.
