On Friday, Feb. 2 the San Jose Sharks will host a private and special Fremont Bank Reading is Cool Program day during practice. The practice, which is closed to the general public, will include more than 250 students who are participating in the program.
The students will be invited to watch practice and will receive hockey-related lessons hosted the Sharks radio color commentator Jamie Baker. Baker will also mediate a question and answer session with the students and two Sharks players. In addition, the students will also have the option of ice skating at the end of practice.
“The private practice is new to the program and it allows the children to see what the players go through on a regular basis,” said Rob Jaynes, Director of Fan Development/The Sharks Foundation. “The teachers wanted something a bit more personal so we added the player interview at the end of practice to bring the program to life.”
The Fremont Bank Reading is Cool Program is presented by the Sharks Foundation and the Fremont Bank Foundation, with support from FSN Bay Area. For more information on the program please visit www.sjsharkie.com/reading
