Plihal Brought Back Up

San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled center Tomas Plihal from the Worcester Sharks (AHL).

In 41 games with Worcester this season, Plihal has posted 13 points (six goals, seven assists) with 28 penalty minutes.

Plihal played in his first two NHL games on Jan. 26 at Edmonton and Jan. 27 at Vancouver, posting eight shots, no points or penalty minutes and an even rating.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of Frydlant, Czech Republic was selected by San Jose in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
