As we shelter in place, we're all looking for ways to pass the time and that includes our very own Sharks players.
So, we are checking in with a few of our guys each week to see what they've been up to while at home.
This week we checked in with Brent Burns, Mario Ferraro and Stefan Noesen:
1. What's the first non-hockey thing you want to do when quarantine is over?
Burns: All I really want to do is play hockey. I've had enough time to do my non-hockey stuff now!
Ferraro: Go out for a nice all-you-can-eat sushi dinner.
Noesen: The first thing I'd do is travel to a beach somewhere and go explore something new.
2. How are you staying active/what type of workouts have you been doing?
Burns: Pretty normal training for me, weights, running, and a lot of work outside. Physical/manual labor around the ranch.
Ferraro: I've been going for jogs while doing some of the home workouts suggested by "Potzy" (Mike Potenza, Director of Strength & Conditioning) from the Sharks. Also tossing a ball around or playing some frisbee with my sisters at home.
Noesen: Peloton has been my best friend and worst enemy. I don't have any weights so it's been hard to do anything besides that.
3. Have you been trying to cook anything new in the kitchen? If not, what's been your go-to snack and takeout order?
Burns: No take out, but have been cooking and barbecuing a TON and watching a couple of my favorite Instagram accounts for inspiration: @Saucybreadbbq, @meatchurch and @code3spices.
Ferraro: I'm living at home with my family so I've had a lot of help in the kitchen. My mom put together the best eggs Benedict breakfast the other day! Perks of being at home. Favorite take out meal has got to be Pizza Nova!
Noesen: I've been using my smoker a lot, trying out some new recipes.
4. What has been your go-to activities during quarantine?
Burns: Ranch life. Helping the kids with school, training and lots of family time. With a LOT of grilling and making blended Kill Cliff vodka drinks!
Ferraro: Go to activity during quarantine has got to be playing cards with my family. It can get competitive, at least one game a night. Also been playing Mario Kart for Nintendo Switch against my siblings which has been a blast!
Noesen: I've actually been walking our golf course a lot. Texas restrictions have slowly been making us able to play again. Good exercise and getting my game back feels good.
5. Who are three teammates that you would want to be in your quarantine house and why?
Burns: Pile all of the boys into the RV and bring 'em out to the ranch!
Ferraro: Gambs, Jumbo and Burnsy! Gotta learn how to grow a beard like Jumbo and Burnsy!
Noesen: Jumbo - he'll always keep you entertained or want to be entertained haha... Jones- because we can create some good golf content and competitions on a simulator... Timo - so he can babysit and keep my dogs entertained.
