San Jose Sharks center Joe Pavelski will be joining Comcast SportsNet for its inaugural Authentic Postgame BBQ celebration on Thursday, August 12. The festivities will take place at the network’s studios at 370 3rd Street (at Harrison) in San Francisco (South of Market) immediately following the San Francisco Giants-Chicago Cubs day game. The event is free to the public and will take place at the building’s front patio.
This is your chance to bump elbows with the recently re-signed San Jose Shark and 2010 Olympic silver medalist. Pavelski had a strong 2009-10 season, helping lead the Sharks to one of their most successful seasons in franchise history and the team’s second appearance in the Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals. He also shined on the national stage as a major contributor in the United States’ exciting run to a silver medal in the 2010 Olympics.
Joining Pavelski at the Authentic Postgame BBQ will be Giants announcers Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow and reporter Amy G, Strikeforce MMA fighters Cung Le and Josh “The Punk” Thomson, and others. Free food will be provided by Kinder’s BBQ and Evergood Fine Foods and free beverages are provided by Berkeley Farms and Powerade. There will also be appearances by the 49ers Gold Rush cheerleaders and the Warrior Girls cheerleaders. Also included at the Authentic Postgame BBQ will be Comcast SportsNet giveaways and carnival games, various vendor booths, and many more attractions.
Comcast SportsNet will produce a special edition of Giants Postgame Live hosted by Gary Radnich and F.P. Santangelo with reporter Brodie Brazil (approximately at 3:30 p.m.) and a special two-hour edition of Chronicle Live with guest host Dave Benz (from approximately 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) on location from the Authentic Postgame BBQ and will feature coverage of the festivities all afternoon.
