The San Jose Sharks held their annual Teal and White game for season ticket holders on Tuesday night, providing the paying public with a first-hand look at the old and future Sharks. It marked the fourth consecutive day with scrimmages amongst the club before they finally face another team Wednesday night in Anaheim.Center Joe Pavelski was the star, scoring a goal and adding an assist as Team White prevailed, 2-0.
There was face-painting and player autographs prior to the event, with the Sharks being divided into five groups of five for the free signings.
Before to the action beginning, every player still in camp was introduced to the fans by radio play-by-play man Dan Rusanowsky or television play-by-play man Randy Hahn. Loud cheers went to the expected stars and the newcomers, but the loudest roar of approval may have gone to former fan favorite and current tryout player Jeff Friesen.
When the event concluded, a select few fans were invited down to the ice to choose shooters for an extended shootout drill and then had their photo taken with the player (instructions on how to obtain the photos will be provided on sjsharks.com on Wednesday).
San Jose will play three games in four nights beginning with the Wednesday affair in Southern California and then back-to-back battles at HP Pavilion on Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are available for either home contest at www.ticketmaster.com.
