Jo Paw-velski has a new home.
San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau and his family have adopted the black cat that found her way onto the ice before Game 1 of the Western Conference Second Round against the Nashville Predators at SAP Center on April 29.
Marleau's wife, Christina, tweeted a picture of the cat, who they named Jo, on June 30. The Marleaus adopted Jo, as well as another cat (who they named Stanley) on May 15 from the Humane Society Silicon Valley.
After running onto the ice, the cat briefly disappeared but was found by Sharks staff members. She was brought to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley the following day and was named "Jo Paw-velski," in honor of Sharks captain Joe Pavelski. Thought to be a good-luck charm, a live webcam was set up in her room, she was provided with Sharks blankets and rally towels and a Twitter account was created in her honor (@SharksBlackCat).
The Sharks reached the Stanley Cup Final, where they lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games.
