The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame, in association with the San Jose Sharks, recently presented a check at the Sharks vs. Canucks hockey game on Jan. 20 for $13,000 to Oakland Tech High School to purchase equipment for over 100 students for their ever popular Ice Hockey program.
BASHOF is a non-profit organization, who over the past 30 years has given 4 million to over 500 youth organizations throughout San Jose and the Bay Area to help run their programs.
The 30th annual Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinement Banquet will be held Monday, Mar. 9 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. This year’s class includes legendary tennis player and tremendous advocate for women’s sports Billie Jean King, University of California and NFL star Craig Morton, National Football League Hall of Famer and wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders Dave Casper, and Baseball Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry of the San Francisco Giants.
