There's always a little more media attention when a Canadian team comes around.
So when the lights at SAP Center didn't turn on and the nets weren't out until the scheduled start of the Oilers morning skate, it became a minor controversy that the Oilers couldn't start their practice early.

This "controversy" made its way across the hockey media landscape, enough that some members of the San Jose Sharks decided to make fun of it.
When the team was back in Edmonton for their morning skate, they refused to take the ice until 11:30AM on the dot, counting down on the bench.
