In our previous update, our draft picks were continuing to find success throughout their respective seasons, including Tristen Robbins recording five points in one night and Goaltender Sam Harvey earning a shutout in his debut.
In this edition of Next Wave check out what our prospects have been up to and how they've been making strides in recent weeks.

Hats Off for Robins
Tristen Robins recorded his second hat trick of the season in a 6-4 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Jan. 14. Named first star of the game for his efforts, Robins recorded two goals on the power-play and scored on a penalty shot. Robins extended his point-streak to four games (six goals, six assists) with a three-point performance (one goal, two assists), including the game-winning goal, on Jan. 15. Robins is currently tied for third in the WHL in game-winning goals (five).
Sarnia's Puck Stopper
Goaltender Benjamin Gaudreau was named the OHL first star of the night after a season-best 49-save performance on Jan. 16. Gaudreau finished the game with a 0.961 save percentage and two goals allowed. Gaudreau is 3-1-0 in his last four games, making a combined 142 saves over the four contests.
Reedy on a Roll
Rookie Scott Reedy recorded his ninth power-play goal of the season on Jan. 14, which leads all Barracuda skaters. Reedy also leads the AHL in power-play goals, and among League rookies, Reedy is ranked second in total goals (16).
Notable Players
•Previous Prospect of the Week Danil Gushchin is currently riding a five-game point streak (six goals, four assists), including goals in five consecutive contests. Gushchin leads his team in goals (21), points (34), power-play goals (eight), shots (123) and points per game (1.36).
•Ethan Cardwell has points in six of his last seven games (four goals, six assists), including at least one point in four straight games. Cardwell notched the game-winning goal and a season-best three points (one goal, two assists) in an 8-2 win on Jan. 16. Cardwell has also recorded two assists in back-to-back games for the first time this season (Jan. 16 and Jan. 18).
•Barracuda forward Jake McGrew notched his fifth goal of the season on Jan. 18 and has recorded five points (two goals, three assists) in his last five games.
•Colgate sophomore Alex Young is third on the team in shots (52), tied for third on the team in goals (five) and points (16). He is also currently riding a four-game point streak (one goal, four assists) and has 13 shots on goal in his last four games. Young recorded his fourth multi-point game of the season on Jan. 16 versus Yale (two assists).
•Among WHL defensemen, Gannon Laroque is currently tied for third in points (31) and is fourth in assists (26).
•Barracuda rookie Kyle Topping recorded his first career multi-point game with a pair of assists on Jan. 12. In his last four games, Topping has three assists.
•San Jose forward Sasha Chmelevski notched his first hat trick of the season in San Jose's 6-3 win on Jan. 8. Chmelevski finished the game with four points (three goals, one assist) and was named the first star of the game.
•Michigan forward Thomas Bordeleau is currently riding a four-game point streak (one goal, three assists), which is tied for his longest point streak this season after beginning the year with seven points (two goals, five assists) in his first four games. Bordeleau's most recent assist was on the game-winning goal on Jan. 15 versus Penn State.
•Goaltender Sam Harvey picked up his second shutout in three games with a 28-save performance on Jan. 14 versus the Tucson Roadrunners. San Jose's two shutout wins this year have come with the young netminder in goal, and San Jose's shutout versus Tucson is their first versus the franchise.
•New Hampshire goaltender Mike Robinson is 4-0-0 in his last four games, allowing only five goals on 79 shots over those contests. Robinson is ranked eighth in the NCAA in goals against average with a 2.135 GAA (minimum 890 minutes played).
•Linus Oberg scored the game-tying goal on Jan. 8, with Orebro going on to record the 6-5 shootout win. Oberg is tied for fourth on the team with six goals.
•Jayden Halbgewachs notched his team leading 13th assist of the season on Jan. 18. Halbgewachs has one assist in four of his last five games.
