In our previous update, our draft picks were continuing to find success throughout their respective seasons, including Magnus Chrona posting three consecutive shutouts and Tristan Robbins picking up his 100th career WHL assist.
In this edition of Next Wave check out what our prospects have been up to and how they've been making strides in recent weeks.

S'Coe'rched Earth
Brandon Coe is currently riding a seven-game point streak (four goals, nine assists), the third time this season he has recorded a point streak of at least seven games. Over his previous seven games dating to Jan. 30, he has collected three separate multi-assist contests including one three-point game. Currently Coe leads the OHL in points, ranks tied for fourth in goals and assists. He continues to lead the CHL in points, being one of four players with at least 70 points (all in the OHL).
Laroque you like a Hurricane
Gannon Laroque registered his 40th point of the season, scoring a goal for the Victoria Royals on Feb. 6, and is now one of six defensemen to reach the 40-point threshold in the WHL. He currently ranks second on the team in points and leads in assists. Over his previous 10 games, he has registered three different multi-point games.
Double-Digit Streak
Danil Guschin is currently riding an 11-game point streak (11 goals, nine assists), recording his second hat trick on the season on Feb. 5 and has two separate four-point contests in that span (Dec. 16, Feb. 5). His streak is the second-longest active streak in the OHL. Guschin leads the IceDogs in goals and points and ranks tied for second in assists.
Notable Players
•Magnus Chrona saw his nine-game win streak snapped in a 3-2 loss on Feb. 12 against Minnesota Duluth. Over the nine games, Chrona posted four separate shutouts, including three straight from Jan. 16-22 while stopping 66 total shots. He allowed 16 goals across his nine wins, and despite the loss is 10-1-1 in his previous 12 contests. His five shutouts rank fifth among D-1 NCAA goaltenders.
•John Leonard scored his tenth goal of the season 40 seconds into the game on Feb. 2nd, becoming the fourth Barracuda skater to score at least 10 goals this season (Reedy, Blichfeld, Halbgewachs). Since the start of the new year, Leonard has appeared in 16 games, scoring 12 points (seven goals, five assists).
•Thomas Bordeleau (Michigan) is currently riding a five-game point streak (two goals, three assists) and has nine points (three goals, seven assists) in his last ten games. Bordeleau registered his first NCAA shorthanded goal on Feb. 12.
•Forward Alex Young is currently riding a six-game point streak (three goals, four assists) which is a career high. Young co-leads Colgate in points and is tied for third in goals.
•Mike Robinson earned his first shutout of the season in a 3-0 win on Feb. 13 vs. UMass Lowell. Robinson stopped 32 shots in the victory, second-most this season behind a 34-save performance on Jan. 22.
•Liam Gilmartin earned his first career multi-goal game on Feb. 12 (two goals), recording his third multi-point effort over his previous five games (three goals, four assists).
•Ben Gaudreau registered his second shutout of the season, stopping 45 shots on Feb. 11 and was named the OHL First Star of the Week for Feb. 15.
•Joseph Garreffa collected six points (three goals, three assists) across seven games with the Solar Bears in the ECHL. He was a plus-2 rating in three of the contests and registered two separate multi-goal outings.
•Sasha Chmelevski registered back-to-back two-assist games on Jan. 31 and Feb. 2, while adding a goal the following night on Feb. 3, collecting five points over the three games. Chmelevski was named the Third Star of the game on Feb. 2nd.
•Jasper Weatherby has collected at least one assist in four of his six games with the Barracuda. He has three assists in his last four games.
•Santeri Hatakka registered his first two assists for the Barracuda on Feb. 2nd and 3rd, which marked his first professional point streak.
•Jayden Halbgewachs recorded goals in two straight games from Feb. 3rd-11th, tying him for the team lead in points with Scott Reedy and Joachim Blichfeld. He now has four goals in his last five contests.
