SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks announced today that goaltender Evgeni Nabokov has been selected as the Seagate “Sharks Player of the Month” for the month of March. The award will be presented to him prior to tonight’s game against the Anaheim Ducks.
Nabokov posted a 7-1-1 record in 10 games during the month of March, posting a 2.10 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. He also added a shutout of the Anaheim Ducks on March 15.
This is the ninth Seagate “Sharks Player of the Month” Award for Nabokov.
Established in the 1996-97 season, the Seagate “Sharks Player of the Month” program honors the Sharks player(s) who have contributed most to the team’s success each month. Seagate will donate $2,500 on behalf of the player(s) to The Sharks Foundation. In addition, one player will be selected as the Seagate “Sharks Player of the Year” at the conclusion of the season and Seagate will donate $5,000 on his behalf to The Sharks Foundation. Seagate has donated more than $300,000 to The Sharks Foundation since the program's inception.
