McGinn: Mustaches, Chicago and Thanksgiving

by Jamie McGinn / San Jose Sharks
This month a bunch of the guys are growing mustaches to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer. People in the stands are seeing guys with mustaches who normally don’t have one and they ask about it and learn why. I’m not one of them, but only because I can’t grow one. I’m out so I can’t say anything bad about anyone’s. I can grow hair everywhere else on my face, but not my mustache.

I think I’m most impressed by Wallin. That is a thick mustache, it’s really dark and it looks good on him. That would be really nice if he grew it all year.

For guys like Demers and Couture, they are trying and more successfully than me. But nothing compared to Wallin and Clowe. Clowe’s is really strong too.

We’ve got to stay positive about our play right now and work hard every day in practice in moving toward Chicago on Wednesday. You have to know in this League that nobody is going to hand you two points. You have to come out ready to play. We are getting teams’ best games every day and we have to be ready for it.

I know Thanksgiving is coming up, but we Canadians already had ours. Thanksgiving has always been a great time back home. It was special in our family because we always got together with the grandparents. We have to travel on Thursday, but I hope everyone in the States had a good dinner with family and friends.
