The month of October was “Hockey Fights Cancer” Awareness month and the NHL, its member teams and its fans made it an overwhelming success.
In a continued effort to support the fight against cancer, the NHL and the NHLPA are organizing an on-line auction for game worn jerseys that will take place prior to the NHL All-Star game in Atlanta. Team captains from all 30 NHL teams will don a Hockey Fights Cancer patch for a game during the weekend of January 11-13. The player’s club will donate the autographed, game-worn jersey to the on-line auction, which will take place in mid-January.
San Jose Sharks Captain Patrick Marleau
will participate in this great cause by wearing the HFC patch on January 12 in a home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
