Dahlen, 24, has skated in 60 games with the Sharks thus far, recording 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists). Among club skaters, he ranks tied-fourth on the team in goals, seventh in power-play points (seven), eighth in shots (105) and ninth in points. He paced Sharks rookie skaters in goals, assists, points, even-strength points (15), power-play points and shots. The forward currently ranks tied for 15th among league rookies in goals and even-strength goals, while being tied for 11th in game-winning goals (two).
Dahlen made his NHL debut in the Sharks' home opener on Oct. 16, against Winnipeg. In doing so, Jonathan and his father Ulf Dahlen became part of the first known farther-son duo to play for the Sharks. He scored his first two career goals at Montreal on Oct. 19 within the first 3:36 of the first period, becoming the ninth Shark to score their first two goals in the same game and scoring the fastest first two career goals from the start of a game in franchise history. Dahlen recorded three-game point streaks three separate times this season, most recently from Jan. 26 - 30. With two power-play goals at Florida on Jan. 29, he became the sixth rookie in team history to score multiple power-play goals in a single game.
The five-foot-eleven, 180-pound native of Ostersund, Sweden was acquired by San Jose from Vancouver in exchange for the rights to Linus Karlsson on Feb. 25, 2019. He was originally selected by the Ottawa Senators in the 2016 NHL Draft (second round, 42nd overall).
