Helping With Hurricane Relief

by Staff Writer / San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks organization join the rest of the country in sending its sympathies to those suffering from Hurricane Katrina, and the Sharks are also doing their part in helping with the recovery challenges.

The Sharks will donate $10,000 directly to the American Red Cross and SVS&E Merchandise will donate approximately $25,000 in merchandise to the cause.  In addition, the Sharks have provided three radio stations with executive suite experiences for relief auctions, with the money going directly to the relief efforts.  Other ideas are currently under consideration as well.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by Hurricane Katrina and we urge everyone to do all they can to assist," said Sharks Executive Vice President of Business Operations Malcolm Bordelon.  "Along with our current plans, we are reviewing additional projects to help with the relief efforts."
