Hammer Time - 3/22/2013

Its hard to believe there is only a month left in the regular season. The season has gone by fast so far but we have a long way to go. One of our team goals was to make the playoffs.

We are on the bubble right now so we are really focused to finish the season strong and to have a great last month. Personally, I feel like I have improved a lot as the season has gone on and am looking to contribute to help the team end strong.

Our team is a close knit group. We have a good mix of veterans and young players, with many character guys. This year has been very different from what I have been used to, with the number of changes to our roster during the season.

From the start of the year some of our original players have left to the NHL or been traded to other teams. Also, we have called up and sent down many players to San Francisco and other ECHL teams so we have had many new faces in the room over the year. Since we have a good leadership group and a close group of guys, the new players have always fit right in and we stayed a close team.

Our team is very excited for March Madness. I love watching college basketball so I am very excited as well. It is one of my favourite sporting events to watch because of the passion, the buzzer beaters, and the upsets by the underdogs that often occur.

Our team is doing a pool this year. Every player filled out a bracket. I'd like to see Gonzaga win. A couple of their key players are Canadian and it would be nice to see a smaller school win.
