Now the real games begin. The playoffs are always exciting, especially at home where the fans make it incredible. It is a lot of fun to play in front of our crowd.
I definitely remember my first playoff game. I hadn’t ever played in an NHL regular season game and I was a little nervous when they told me I was going to play in the playoffs.
During the game, I got my first playoff point and it was the first assist on Mark Smith’s series clinching goal. It was a great feeling being on the ice for that.
I was out for most of the Colorado series too, but then I got my chance again. At one point, Curtis Brown had the puck and I was driving to the net. The pass found my stick and I put it in the goal. That ended up being the series clincher for that series.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the series clincher against Calgary in the Conference Finals, but hopefully that will change this year.
The players love the playoffs as much as the fans, so have fun and make some noise. We hear it and we love it. Check back next week to read Marcel’s newest entry in his weekly blog. For all of Marcel's past entries, click here.
