Sharks goaltender Thomas Greiss
will be assigned to Worcester, San Jose’s AHL affiliate, after clearing waivers on Tuesday.
The Sharks were not likely to carry three goaltenders for the entire season and Antti Niemi
and Antero Niittymaki are currently on the roster.
During his two years in the NHL, Greiss compiled a 7-5-2 record in 19 games to go along with a .906 save percentage and a 2.77 goals-against-average.
Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson noted the Sharks are fortunate to keep a young goaltender the caliber of Greiss in the organization.
