It's the last game of the regular season and the San Jose Sharks are hosting the Minnesota Wild for Fan Appreciation Night presented by SAP. Tonight is about more than just the game on the ice, it's about the fans!
To celebrate our loyal fans, each fan in a attendance will receive the highly anticipated Barbershop bobblehead featuring Brent Burns and Joe Thornton. In addition, over 400 prizes will be given out to fans throughout out the game, a special jersey off the back ceremony and a t-shirt toss are all taking place at the Tank. You need to be there.
On a more hockey related note, the Sharks are still playing important hockey in regards to the bigger playoff picture. Team Teal is in, but who will they play and will they have home ice advantage? These questions should all be answered tonight. The Los Angeles Kings are two points behind the Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks are one point behind with their win over the Stars last night. These two points up for grabs tonight are crucial for the Sharks to remain at second place in the Pacific and solidify home-ice advantage.
The Sharks are coming off a 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night. After a four game losing streak, the Sharks came out on top and reach 100 points in the season. Just Braun tallied his fifth goal, Logan Couture netted his 34th of the season, and Joonas Donskoi scored the game-winner for his 14th of the season. Captain Joe Pavelski made an incredible block on Nathan MacKinnon's shot which led to Hertl's empty-netter to solidify the Sharks win.
Tonight marks the last game until Sharks Playoff Mode is turned ON!
