Welcome to the Gameday Blog, which will be updated throughout the day with news, lineup information, videos, and tweets.
After a one-game road jaunt, the San Jose Sharks are back at home tonight, ready to host the Ottawa Senators for Marvel Super Hero Night presented by Solar4America.
The Sharks are looking to extend their league-leading five-game win streak. Their most recent addition to the streak was Thursday night, with a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights. While Erik Karlsson's 14-game point streak was snapped, a Karlsson still got on the scoreboard, as Melker Karlsson opened the scoring. Tomas Hertl and Joonas Donskoi also scored for the Sharks, while Martin Jones picked up a birthday win.
In the previous meeting between the Sharks and Ottawa Senators, the Senators emerged with a 6-2 victory that saw Joe Thornton and Barclay Goodrow pick up the only goals for the Sharks. It was an emotional game for Erik Karlsson then, and it should be somewhat emotional for several members of the Senators now; Chris Tierney, Dylan DeMelo, and Mikkel Boedker all make their first visit back to San Jose after being traded (as does Rudolfs Balcers, though he never suited up in an NHL game with the club that drafted him).
Sharks fans can tune into tonight's game on NBCSCA. In addition, Sharks fans can listen on 98.5 KFOX or the Sharks radio network, or tune in on the Sharks + SAP Center app.
