The San Jose Sharks play the third game of their East Coast road trip against the New York Rangers tonight at Madison Square Garden. The team is coming off a 5-3 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday.
Despite the loss, forward Logan Couture had a dominant performance at Barclays Center scoring his second career hat trick. Two of his goals came at even strength while his other came on the power play, the exact same as his other career hat trick which occurred on March 29, 2016 in Vancouver. Additionally, Joe Thornton picked up a pair of assists in the defeat as Aaron Dell started in net for Team Teal. Logan Couture is one assist away from 200 career NHL assists.
After a few days rest, Martin Jones is expected back in net for the Sharks. He is 2-2-0 in his career vs. the Rangers. The San Jose Sharks are 10-22-3-2 all-time vs. the Rangers and 4-11-1-1 at Madison Square Garden.
