Tonight the San Jose Sharks face the Nashville Predators at SAP Center. This is only the Sharks second Western Conference matchup so far this season since playing the Los Angeles Kings in early October. Anticipation is high to see how the Sharks shift gears to more familiar teams this homestand including the Ducks and Canucks.
Last game the Sharks topped the Maple Leafs 3-2, outshooting them 39-18. Captain Joe Pavelski (3), Tim Heed (2), and Joel Ward (1) all notched a goal giving the Sharks their sixth win of the season. Joe Thornton had an assist on Pavelski's goal earning him sole possession of 20th place on the NHL's all-time points list with 1,399 points.
Be on the lookout for the next Sharks milestones! Joe Thornton is only one point away from 1,400 points and Joe Pavelski is two goals away from 300 career goals.
Nashville is coming off a 6-2 loss to the Islanders on Oct. 28. With a few days rest, we will see what adjustments they have made for their California swing starting in San Jose tonight.
