Gameday Blog: Sharks vs. Flyers 10/4

What everyone has been waiting for is finally happening. After a long summer, hockey finally returns as the San Jose Sharks host the Philadelphia Flyers for Opening Night today at SAP Center.
For the past three seasons, the Sharks have begun this season against the Los Angeles Kings. This season, however, the Philadelphia Flyers have elbowed their way into the opening night slot, with the Sharks and Kings not facing off until the second game of the season.

While the 23 man roster was finalized yesterday, that doesn't mean there's no room for movement. As head coach Peter DeBoer said at yesterday's practice, "Like I told our players, because you're in this group of 23 doesn't mean that's a job for the season. That lasts through Game One."
