The San Jose Sharks take on the Washington Capitals for some afternoon hockey at SAP Center at 1PM. This marks the teams' final meeting against each other this regular season.
The Sharks have won three of their last four games and are coming off a 2-0 win over the St Louis Blues on Thursday night. The game remained scoreless until 12:12 in the third period when Mikkel Boedker scored a power play goal. That was the Sharks first power play goal in 28 chances. Tomas Hertl sealed the Sharks win with an empty net goal.
Boedker remains hot with his power play goal last game. He has tallied 10 points in his last 10 games (4 goals and 6 assists.) Martin Jones also notched his 19th career shutout last game making 16 saves against the Blues.
The Capitals are on a two-game losing streak after falling to the Ducks 4-0 and the Kings 3-1. Despite the recent loses, the Caps remain in the playoff hunt. Both the Sharks and the Capitals are in second place in their respective divisions.
