Tonight, the San Jose Sharks face the Vegas Golden Knights for Game 3 in the First Round of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
San Jose and Vegas last season split the first two games of the series 1-1 in Vegas during the Second Round. In last year's Game 3, Vegas bested San Jose in a 4-3 overtime victory at SAP Center. The Sharks fell behind 3-1 in the middle frame before scoring two goals in the third frame to force overtime, as Tomas Hertl scored the game-tying goal with 1:57 left on the clock. San Jose sports a 23-15 record all-time in a Game 3 (9-7 on the road).
After falling behind early in Game 2, 3-0, the Sharks ripped off three goals in a span of 2:09 to tie the game before the end of the first period, becoming the first NHL club to tie a game in the first period after trailing 3-0. Logan Couture started the scoring for San Jose and Tomas Hertl along with Joe Thornton followed suit. Erik Karlsson earned his second straight multi-assist game.
