Sharks fans looking to watch the Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins game this Saturday should be aware the game will be broadcast in it’s entirety on FSN Plus, and joined in progress on FSN Bay Area (at the conclusion of the Warriors game). The anticipated delay on FSN Bay Area for Saturday night’s game is one period.
While this situation is not unusual for Sharks and Warriors there is one change for Sharks fans to be aware of.
In the past, Comcast has put FSN Plus on their standard Analog signal (which is usually between channels 1-82). However, they are no longer able to accommodate FSN Plus on Analog and, as a result, FSN PLUS games are only available on Comcast Digital Cable. This means, a fan that receives their television programming on Comcast Cable and has only analog signal reception, will have to upgrade to the Digital signal to receive FSN Plus. The extra cost is about $10 more per month.
This does not affect those who receive FSN Bay Area or FSN Plus on Satellite or those who receive the games in HD.
The games this season that will run on FSN Plus are listed below with those marked "JIP" joined in progress on regular (analog) FSN Bay Area. All others are FSN Plus only.
Nov 4 vs Pittsburgh - (JIP approx 8:30pm) Nov 9 @ LA Dec 12 @ LA Dec 26 vs Anaheim Jan 6 vs Columbus Jan 20 vs St. Louis Feb 7 @ Anaheim Feb 28 vs Nashville - (JIP approx 7:30pm) March 9 vs Vancouver - (JIP approx 8pm) April 4 @ Anaheim (This schedule subject to change and/or addition)
FSN Plus will now always be on the same channel on Comcast Digital Cable: channel 410, and the signal is clearer than analog cable, providing a superior picture.
Fans interested in obtaining FSN PLUS on Comcast Digital Cable should contact Comcast directly at 1.800.COMCAST.
There are other Cable providers that do carry FSN Plus games on analog cable and a list of those is on the FSN Bay Area website (http://fsnbayarea.com/FSNPlus.jsp). There are a few who do not carry FSN PLUS at all, but are working on ways to clear FSN Plus in the future.
