The San Jose Sharks, in conjunction with the Fremont Bank Reading is Cool Program and FSN Bay Area, will be holding their annual book drive on Jan. 18 and 20. Sharks fans in attendance of each of these games, Jan. 18 vs. Phoenix and Jan. 20 vs. St. Louis are encouraged to bring new or gently used books to the game.
The books will be donated to Bay Area elementary school libraries through the Fremont Bank Reading is Cool Program. Sharks fans who donate either a physical item or make a monetary donation as they enter the building will be automatically entered in a raffle to win Sharks autographed items that will be announced on the jumbotron during the first intermission. Winners will be able to pick up their items at the Sharks Foundation booth (located outside Section 124) before the end of the second intermission.
The Fremont Bank Reading is Cool Program, which is brought to you by The Sharks Foundation and the Fremont Bank Foundation offers free literacy to all K-6 grade public school classes in Santa Clara County and South Alameda County. The program offers several motivational tools such as individual awards, top reader night, Sharkie visits, S.J. Sharkie read-ins, video, celebrity story hours and more.
Come out, bring a book, and help your San Jose Sharks to help Bay Area children read.
