The Fremont Bank Foundation, The Sharks Foundation and FSN Bay Area are excited to announce that registration for the Fremont Bank Reading Is Cool program will begin at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18 at http://www.sjsharkie.com/.
Fremont Bank Reading Is Cool is a free literacy program for public K-6 grade classrooms in Santa Clara County and southern Alameda County (Fremont, Newark and Union City). It incorporates several individual components designed to promote the importance of reading, both at home and in the classroom.
Some of this season’s exciting opportunities include:
- The chance to win fieldtrips to a private Sharks practice at Logitech Ice and visits from S.J. Sharkie each month!
- A fun and educational video featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the San Jose Sharks from some of your favorite members of the team!
- Award medals for the Reader of the Month and the Top Reader of the Year from each classroom!
- The Top Reader of the Year grand prize drawing for a Penthouse Suite Pizza Party at a San Jose Sharks home game!
Registration will end on Sept. 30 so teachers are encouraged to register early, as space is limited. The first ten classrooms to register will win a visit from S.J. Sharkie during the month of October!
