Follow The Sharks At The NHL Entry Draft

The 2011 NHL Entry Draft will begin Friday, June 24 in St. Paul, Minnesota and the Sharks will start with the 28th overall pick. Round 1 will take place Friday at 4:00 p.m. (Pacific) and be broadcast on VERSUS. Rounds 2-7 will start at 8:00 a.m. (Pacific) on Saturday, June 25 and will be broadcast on NHL Network.



The Sharks have six picks in this year’s Draft including two in the sixth round. Here is a quick rundown of how San Jose’s picks are stacked up as of Tuesday, June 21:
  • Round 1: 28th overall pick
  • Round 2: 59th overall pick
  • Round 3: 88th overall pick
  • Round 4: 118th overall pick
  • Round 5: NO PICKS (Acquired Ben Eager from ATL for 2011 fifth round pick on Jan. 18, 2011)
  • Round 6: 165th overall (Traded Jody Shelley to NYR for 2011 conditional pick on Feb. 12, 2010) and 178th overall
  • Round 7: NO PICKS (Acquired 2010 seventh round pick (Christopher Crane) from PIT for 2011 seventh round pick on June 26, 2010)
