This week Sharks Facebook Fans voted on the team that is the biggest competition in the playoff battle down the stretch. Over a third of respondents voted the Phoenix Coyotes as the biggest competition for a playoff spot. Currently the Sharks sit in 8th place in the Western Divsion with 74 points, tied with both L.A. and Colorado although San Jose has played fewer games than either team. Dallas, which is two games up on San Jose, is currently at the top of the Pacific Divsion with 77 points. Phoenix is only one point ahead of the Sharks and has played two more games. In three games vs the Coyotes this year, the Sharks hold a 1-2-0 record.

San Jose has 17 regular season games remaining with all but one game against Western Conference opponents. They will face Dallas, L.A. and Phoenix three more times and Anaheim twice in the final stretch to determine who makes the playoffs.
