Dillon Says Game 3 Win 'An Unbelievable Feeling'

by Staff Writer / San Jose Sharks

Here is Dillon's blog from Game 3:

The fans tonight, they didn't disappoint, that's for sure. Right from the warmup to skating out of the shark head to the puck drop, to the first shift, it was just unbelievable; unbelievable. Twenty-five years of waiting for that first game, and now the win as well. For us the players, they did their job. To get that win in overtime was huge. We could have been down 0-3 in the series, and now we are down 2-1 with the momentum on our side. It's amazing. You can't wait for Game 4 now.

When I was on the bench while they were doing the starting lineup, you just look around and take it all in; that was my favorite memory. The Sharks have done an unbelievable job getting everybody ready, whether it be the music or whatever to create a great atmosphere. You knew you were in a Stanley Cup Final, that's for sure. My first shift, I think it was 45 seconds or a minute in and the place was obviously buzzing; for us, as players, that is all you can ask for is an atmosphere like that.

You dream about this for so long, but it was even better in reality. You can dream all you want, think about it all you want, but to actually play in this game, to have this actual feeling, there is nothing like it. We win the last round and become the Western Conference champions and that was an incredible feeling; I didn't think you could top it, but we did.

When Joonas Donskoi walked in after his interviews and everybody is hooting and hollering and excited and so pumped, it's just 20 guys bonding together and being able to get through that war tonight. It was a tough game again; two of three have gone into overtime and all three have been one-goal games. It's nice to be on the winning end and leave the rink with a smile on your face.

We were 0-4 in overtime going into the one tonight. The message after the third period tonight was that 'Hey, it's our turn.' We've been right there; the game in Nashville, the loss against Los Angeles in the first home game in the first round, I'm sure all 20 guys can re-live those games and think about the post we hit or that missed net. To get it done and be on the winning side, it's an unbelievable feeling.

This is a great group and this is a team that deserved to win. We earned that one tonight, that's for sure. We worked. It doesn't matter if it is Donsk, if it is Joe Pavelski, if it is Justin Braun gets the goal, we're all so excited.

I'm going to go out and celebrate a little with my mom, dad and sister; they are all in town for the games in San Jose. We are 1-0 since they got here, so I don't know what I am going to do. I may have to fly them all out to Pittsburgh for Game 5. To be able to have them here and share this moment is great. You never know when this opportunity is going to come again and to be able to share this with all the people that have supported us since Day 1 is awesome.
