CSN Bay Area Gets Top Rating

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s coverage of last night’s San Jose Sharks/Dallas Stars game registered an average household rating of 2.1 (over 50,800 television households) and was the highest-rated Sharks regular season telecast in the history of the network. The previous high was 2.0 for both the 1/29/09 Sharks/Coyotes and the 2/19/09 Sharks/Kings games.

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s Sharks household ratings have averaged 1.3 for the 2008-09 season (54 telecasts) – a 63% increase over 2007-08’s household rating of 0.8, as of March 3, 2008 (55 telecasts). Approximately 31,450 households are watching per game.

A total of eight Sharks games this season have delivered higher ratings than any regular season games during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.

The key advertiser demos of Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 also registered increased ratings. Adults 18-49 ratings are up 150% (1.0 this season vs. last season’s 0.4) and Adults 25-54 have increased 100% (0.8 this season vs. last season’s 0.4).
