San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture
is headed to Las Vegas for the 2011 National Hockey League Awards Show, which will be held Wed., June 22 at 4 p.m. PDT in The Pearl Concert Theatre inside the Palms Casino Resort. The show will be broadcast live on VERSUS.

Named as the 2010-11 Playstation “Sharks Rookie of the Year,” Couture finished second among all NHL rookies in goals (32) and points (32-24=56) and was first in game-winning goals (eight), power play goals (10), shots (235) and fifth in plus/minus (plus-18). In addition, he set an NHL rookie record by scoring seven game-winning goals on the road and became only the 23rd NHL rookie to ever score 20-plus road goals (22).
Overall in the NHL, Couture finished T-14th in goals, T-7th in game-winning goals and 14th among all NHL forwards in blocked shots (66).
Named to the Honda NHL Superskills squad at the 2011 NHL All-Star Game, he was named NHL Rookie of the Month and Sharks Player of the Month for December 2010.
He also set Sharks rookie records for goals, power play goals, game-winning goals and shots.
Couture, selected by San Jose in the first round (9th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, is one of three finalists for the award, along with the New York Islanders Michael Grabner and Carolina’s Jeff Skinner. He becomes the third Sharks player to be nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy, along with Evgeni Nabokov (winner, 2001) and Brad Stuart (runner-up, 2000).
