SIMS Recycling Solutions and HP partnered with the San Jose Sharks to host an electronic recycling event on October 30. The event provided a way for community members to dispose of their unwanted computer electronics in an eco-friendly way.
Items ranging from TV’s and computers to mp3s and cell phones were dropped off in the parking lot at HP Pavilion. In total, 85 cars rolled through, filling up seven bins of electronic waste. Even a commercial sized copier was laid to rest.
“Sims Recycling Solutions was very excited by the community support shown by Shark’s fans at the collection event,” said Stephen Skurnac, President of SIMS Recycling Solutions. “We are very pleased to partner with the Sharks and HP to ensure the responsible recycling of e-waste and we look forward to additional collection events in the new year.”
Early goers were awarded with a bit of a treat, as Sharks defensemen Douglas Murray
took advantage of the opportunity to drop off a worn out computer monitor. Then, everybody followed the earth conscious blue-liner into the building to watch the Sharks pre-game skate that morning.
Each and every recycler was given a raffle ticket and had the opportunity to win exclusive Sharks autographed merchandise and memorabilia.
Don’t miss out on the next chance to recycle your unwanted electronics as SIMS Recycling Solutions, HP, and the Sharks get together again on January 22 and March 19.
