Comcast SportsNet California Delivers Highest Sharks Regular Season Game Rating To Date

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 6, 2012) – Comcast SportsNet California, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” delivered its highest San Jose Sharks regular season rating ever last night (Thursday, Jan. 5) – a 2.22 average household rating for its live coverage of the Sharks’ 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Sharks/Blue Jackets game attracted approximately 55,640 households for the entire game and posted a 2.88 peak rating during the 9:45 p.m. quarter hour (72,187 households). The 2.22 rating on Comcast SportsNet California surpasses the previous record set on March 30, 2009 against Calgary (2.17). This season, the Sharks on Comcast SportsNet California are averaging a 1.41 household rating, an increase of +64% compared to last year’s season-ending rating.
Comcast SportsNet California’s next Sharks telecast is Saturday, Jan. 7 as they host the Washington Capitals (pre-game coverage gets underway on Sharks Pregame Live at 7 p.m. and with face-off at 7:30 p.m.).
