Sharks right wing Jonathan Cheechoo is currently listed as day-to-day with a left leg injury, but his injury is not considered to be serious said team officials on Thursday. Cheechoo’s status for Saturday's game against the Flyers at HP Pavilion at San Jose has not yet been determined.
Cheechoo left in the second period of Wednesday night's 4-3 win over Colorado after getting tied up with Avalanche defenseman Karlis Skrastins. The two battled in front of the net and Skrastins inadvertently fell on top of Cheechoo, coming down awkwardly on his left leg late in the period.
Cheechoo remained on the ice for a few minutes before being helped to his feet and ushered into the Sharks locker room by linemate and alternate captain Joe Thornton
and Head Athletic Trainer Ray Tufts. Cheechoo did not return and was unavailable for comment after the game.
Cheechoo has played in 140 consecutive games for the Sharks.
