San Jose's 2017 second round pick is enjoying the challenge of his first Sharks Development Camp.
Mario Ferraro, a defenseman out of King City, ON, describes himself as an "offensive defenseman who takes pride in the d-zone." His stats from his draft year bear that out; with the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers, Ferraro scored 8 goals and 33 assists in 60 games.

Coming into the camp, Ferraro said, "I'm hoping to get better and learn what I can work in the future to achieve my goal to play for San Jose one day."
"It's a really cool experience," Ferraro says of the camp. "There's guys from all over the world and all different ages. It's a good challenge for me as well, being pushed by all these great players here."
But it's also a lot of hard work. "You gotta stay focused and stay hydrated and make sure you eat and we've been on the ice once and worked out twice today. It's definitely a grind, it's a tough camp and it's a lot more intense than the ones I've been to in the past."
