San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson found some NHL experience at the netminding position with his Tuesday signing of Brian Boucher (BOO-shay) to a one-year contract.
Boucher, 31, has played seven NHL seasons with Philadelphia, Phoenix, Calgary, Chicago and Columbus and has spent the 2007-08 season with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League, where he posted 23-16-1 record with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage with four shutouts in 42 games.
Most recently, Boucher split the 2006-07 season between the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets and the Phantoms.
In 220 NHL games, Boucher has posted a 77-96-30 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage, along with 13 shutouts
In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he has an 11-8 mark with a 2.07 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage with one shutout in 21 games
The native of Woonsocket, Rhode Island was originally selected in the first round (22nd overall) in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
