Blake X-rays Negative

While the Sharks have had more then their fair share of injuries lately, they did receive a bit of good news Tuesday on the injury front.

X-rays on Rob Blake came back negative and the All-Star defenseman is day-to-day with regards to his return. Blake took a shot to his lower body during the recent Vancouver game.


San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Derek Joslin from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Joslin has played in 11 games with the Sharks this season, posting six penalty minutes.

In 47 games with Worcester, he has 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) and 26 penalty minutes.

Joslin played for the Canadian AHL All-Star Team in Jan., where he won the Reebok “Hardest Shot” event with a shot registering 98.6 miles per hour at the AHL All-Star Skills Competition.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario was originally selected by San Jose in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
