Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the San Jose Sharks have re-signed forward Benn Ferriero to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In 2010-11, Ferriero played 33 games for San Jose, posting nine points (five goals, four assists), a plus-8 rating and nine penalty minutes. In 43 games with Worcester (AHL), he notched 33 points (16 goals, 17 assists) with eight penalty minutes.
Ferriero played in eight playoff games for San Jose, scoring one goal. His goal was the game- winning overtime goal in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against Detroit.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Boston was signed by San Jose as a free agent on Sept. 1, 2009.
