Autographed Valentine's Day Sweater Sale on Feb. 3 and 6

by Staff Writer / San Jose Sharks
The Sharks Foundation will hold a Valentine’s Day Sweater Sale during the home games on Feb. 3 vs. Chicago and Feb. 6 vs. Anaheim.  The opening bid for each sweater is $200 and they will only be sold via Blind Auction at the Sharks Foundation booth, located just outside Section 124 on the Concourse Level.  Those fans interested in the sweaters must be present to bid.  No phone, fax or email bids will be allowed.  Sharks Foundation representatives and our regular volunteers from UPS will be on hand to answer questions.

Net proceeds will benefit The Sharks Foundation’s 2006-07 Beneficiaries.

ABOUT THE SWEATERS
These sweaters are a one-time only run, never to be produced again.  The festive red sweaters are regulation practice cut and will be worn and autographed during the morning skate session at HP Pavilion prior to the home game on Jan. 30 vs. Dallas.  The back features the respective player’s name, as well as their number inside a special heart logo.

NEW AUCTION PROCESS
The auction runs from the opening of HP Pavilion doors (11:45 a.m. on Feb. 3 and 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 6) through the end of the First Intermission.  The format is as follows:
  • Fans must complete an entry form for their desired sweater, stating the amount they will pay, without seeing any of the other bids.

  • Each sweater has its own color-coded set of entry forms and box.  Fans MUST submit the correct form into the corresponding box for their bid to be considered.

  • Only forms completed in their entirety and placed in the correct box will be eligible for the auction.

  • The individual who stated the highest bid for each sweater will be deemed the winner.

  • Each set of entry forms are sequentially numbered.  In the event of a tie, the bidder with the lowest form number (thus the earlier bid) will be deemed the winner.

  • Winners will be posted at The Sharks Foundation Booth at the start of the Second Intermission.  They may immediately pay with check, credit card or exact cash in order to take the item home that night.  Winners will also be posted online the following day.  If a winner does not claim their sweater by the end of the Second Intermission, they will be contacted the following day.
