Ask the Sharks: Setoguchi's Answers

by San Jose Sharks Staff / San Jose Sharks
In this segment of Ask the Sharks, Setoguchi answers questions about dealing with family member fighting cancer, his acting skills as a lawyer in the "Don't Quit Your Night Job" commercial campaign and the Toyota Corolla that he and Torrey Mitchell used to share.

Below are Seto's answers to your best questions.

1. What advice can you give to your fans that have a member of their family struggling with cancer currently? – Jennifer Y.
You’ve got to spend a lot of time with them. It’s a lot of personal support with the family. Just being there. You never know if things can go bad, so you want to spend as much time with them.

2. What impact has social networking such as Twitter had on yourself and connecting with your fans? Any good stories? – Roman_Garcia via Twitter
It’s been good. I’ve have close to 16,500 followers on Twitter. A lot was due to my donation I’m going to do. If feels good. You get some funny comments on there and you get some people who like to write some pretty negative stuff and that is pretty funny as well. There was one the other day where some guy was chirping me about scoring a goal. It’s funny for me to laugh at. Some people just write to see if they can get me to write back. For the most part it’s been good, a lot of good fan support. I like to hear what they have to say.

3. If you could be the replacement for any position on the CSN broadcasting team, which would it be? – kevinkoch via Twitter
I’d take Drew’s job. I’d take him out.

4. If you were to go out, which teammate would you take as your wingman? – livinlifeilove via Twitter
Probably one of my roommates, either Torrey (Mitchell) or Jason (Demers).

5. What ever happened to the little car you and Torrey used to share your rookie season? – Ramon_V via Twitter
The Toyota Corolla. It was a rental and we had it for about three months. It’s too bad, we bought new ones a while ago. I liked that car. I should have kept it.

6. If hockey has not worked out, what profession would you have liked to be in and why? – MrGajman via Twitter
I don’t know. I could have gone to school. My dad is a farmer and I could have stayed home and farmed as well.

7. What was going through your head when you were making your debut as a lawyer? – Tim

It was fun. I wasn’t very nervous. I was hoping I could say lines of my own, but I had to stick to the script. I didn’t write it.

8. Who is your favorite person you follow on twitter?  Do you think you'll have more followers than Logan someday? – Lauren
Cooch (Logan Couture) will probably get more, he networks more than I do. I like following Tiger Woods. I follow Charlie Sheen now. I’m not going to lie, that’s pretty funny.

9. I noticed that in recent segments of "20 questions" when asked which teammates life would make the best reality TV show, almost everyone asked said you. Why do you suppose that is? – Leighton
I guess I’m just that cool of a guy. Envy of my style and social work. (said tongue in cheek)

10. How does it feel to be the first one to do a 'Umbrella Hat Trick'? – David via Text
I didn’t even know about it until people were writing about it. I had to ask and someone threw an umbrella on the ice after my hat trick. Then they’ve made shirts that say “umbrella trick”. I thought it was pretty funny. I should get a t-shirt.
