The leftie from Boden, Sweden was acquired by San Jose along with a 5th round pick in 2010 from Carolina in exchange for a 2nd round pick in 2010 (from BUF) on Feb. 7. A day after his trade, Wallin joined the Sharks in Toronto and registered 12:10 minutes of ice time and was a +1 in San Jose’s 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
Over his nine-year NHL career, Wallin has been to the Stanley Cup Finals twice and took home hockey’s Holy Grail with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006. He’s also developed a reputation for scoring overtime goals in the postseason. All three of his career postseason goals came in OT, and he even "blessed" defenseman Tim Gleason's stick before Gleason's OT game-winner in Game 2 of last year's first-round series with New Jersey.
