Ask the Sharks: Marcel Goc

Sharks center Marcel Goc will be the next Sharks player featured on our weekly segment of Ask the Sharks. Fans with questions for the 25-year-old native of Calw, Germany can send them to askthesharks@sjsharks.com.


Since being drafted by the Sharks 20th overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Goc has tallied 19 goals and 27 assists in 223 games. The six-foot-one, 200 pound center currently ranks second on the team in faceoff percentage (58.6%) after winning 12 of 17 faceoffs on November 16 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Earlier this season, Goc and teammate Christian Ehrhoff were the subjects of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s series premiere of “A Day in the Life”. The pair went to Teske’s Germania and a San Jose Earthquakes game. Last season, Sharks fans were also given a glimpse into Goc’s life through his weekly blog on SJSHARKS.com.

Goc loves PlayStation 3 and his favorite games are FIFA ’09 and Call of Duty 4.
