After a slow start to the season, the 23-year-old defenseman is coming back strong. In the Sharks last two games Vlasic has recorded three points including his 100th career point with an assist on Jan. 1 vs. Los Angeles. The six-foot-one native of Montreal, Canada currently ranks second on the team in blocked shots with 67. In December, he set a franchise record for the most blocked shots in a two-game span after blocking six shots in back-to-back games.

Selected by the Sharks in the second round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, “Pickles” began skating at age four and playing hockey at age five. Away from the ice, he enjoys golf and says he likes to play wherever and whenever there is a tee time. Vlasic also likes to relax while watching his favorite television show, “24,” and claims to have seen each episode twice.
