Andrew Desjardins & Alex Stalock Get 1 Year

The San Jose Sharks have agreed to one-year contracts with forward Andrew Desjardins and goaltender Alex Stalock.

Desjardins, 24, appeared in 17 games with San Jose this season, making his NHL debut on Jan. 3 vs. Vancouver. He posted three points (one goal, two assists) during the regular season and also added one goal in his three 2011 Stanley Cup Playoff appearances. Desjardins also played in 58 games for Worcester, posting 29 points (12-17=29), 69 penalty minutes and a +14 plus/minus rating.

The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Lively, Ontario was originally signed as a free agent by San Jose on June 26, 2010.

Stalock, 23, earned the win in his first NHL game on Feb. 1 saving all nine shots on net as the Sharks overcame a three-goal deficit against the Phoenix Coyotes.

This season with the Worcester Sharks, he posted a 19-17-4 record with a 2.63 goals against average and a .907 save percentage. In 2009-10, Stalock set an AHL rookie record by recording 39 wins, played in the 2010 AHL All-Star Game and was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team.

The 6-foot, 185-pound native of St. Paul, Minnesota was selected by San Jose in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

In addition the Sharks issued qualifying offers to four players:

The following six players were not issued qualifying offers and will become unrestricted free agents on July 1:
